Introduction
The TPS65217x is a single-chip power management IC (PMIC) specifically designed to power AM335x ARM Cortex-A8 processors in portable devices and 5V line-powered applications. This PMIC includes a linear battery charger (supporting single-cell Li-Ion and Li-Polymer batteries), dual-input power path, three buck converters, four low-dropout (LDO) regulators, and a high-efficiency boost converter capable of driving two LED strings of up to 10 LEDs each. The system can be powered by any combination of a USB port, 5V AC adapter, or Li-Ion battery. The device is rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C, making it well-suited for industrial applications. Three high-efficiency 2.25MHz buck converters supply the system with core voltage, memory, and I/O voltage. The TPS65217x is available in a 48-pin leadless package (6mm×6mm QFN) with 0.4mm pitch.
