Introduction
The TPS6507x series of devices are single-chip power management ICs (PMICs) suitable for the following portable applications: They include a battery charger with power path management for single-cell lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries. This charger can be powered either by a USB port on the USB pin or by a DC voltage provided by a wall adapter connected to the AC pin. Three high-efficiency 2.25MHz step-down converters are used to provide core voltage, memory, and I/O voltage for a processor-based system. To achieve maximum efficiency over the widest possible load current range, these step-down converters enter a low-power mode at light loads.
