Introduction
The LM3648 is an LED flash driver with a small solution size and stronger adaptability. It uses a synchronous boost converter with a fixed frequency of 2MHz or 4MHz to power a 1.5A LED constant current source. The adaptive adjustment method ensures that the current source remains adjustable and maximizes efficiency. Its functions are controlled through an I²C-compatible interface, including hardware flash and hardware torch pins (STROBE and TORCH/TEMP), TX interrupt, and NTC thermistor monitor. The device can provide 64 levels of current in flash mode and 128 levels of current in camera mode (torch). It also offers options for 2MHz or 4MHz switching frequencies, overvoltage protection (OVP) function, and adjustable current limiting function, allowing the use of miniature, ultra-thin inductors and (10μF) ceramic capacitors. The operating ambient temperature range is from -40°C to 85°C.
