Introduction
The DRV8801A-Q1 device is equipped with an H-bridge driver, providing a versatile motor driver solution. This device can drive a brushed DC motor or one winding of a stepper motor, as well as other devices such as solenoids. A simple PHASE and ENABLE interface can be easily connected to the controller circuit. The output stage uses N-channel power MOSFETs configured as an H-bridge. The DRV8801A-Q1 device can provide a peak output current of up to ±2.8A and withstand an operating voltage of up to 36V. The required gate drive voltage can be generated by an internal charge pump. The low-power sleep mode can turn off part of the internal circuits to achieve extremely low quiescent current and power consumption. A dedicated nSLEEP pin can be used to set this sleep mode. The provided internal protection features include undervoltage lockout, overcurrent protection, power short-circuit protection, ground short-circuit protection, overheat warning, and overheat shutdown. Overcurrent (including ground short-circuit and power short-circuit) and overheat fault conditions are indicated by the nFAULT pin. The DRV8801A-Q1 device is available in a PowerPAD 16-pin ultra-thin quad flat no-lead (WQFN) package (environmentally friendly: RoHS compliant and antimony/bromine free).
Features
- Automotive-qualified
- Low on-resistance (0.83Ω) output
- Low-power sleep mode with 100% PWM support
- 6.5V to 36V wide supply voltage range
- Thermally enhanced surface-mount package
- Configurable overcurrent limit
- VBB undervoltage lockout (UVLO)
- Overcurrent protection (OCP)
- Power supply short-circuit protection
- Ground short-circuit protection
- Overtemperature warning (OTW)
- Overtemperature shutdown (OTS)
- Pin (nFAULT) indication for overcurrent and overtemperature fault conditions
Applications
