Introduction
The ADS112U04 is a 16-bit precision ADC that integrates multiple features to reduce system cost and component count in small sensor signal measurement applications. The device offers two differential or four single-ended inputs via a flexible input MUX, a low-noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA), two programmable excitation current sources, a voltage reference, an oscillator, and a precision temperature sensor.
The device performs conversions at data rates up to 2000 SPS and settles within a single cycle. For industrial applications in noisy environments, the digital filter provides simultaneous 50 Hz and 60 Hz rejection at a 20 SPS sampling rate. The internal PGA provides gains up to 128, making the ADS112U04 well suited for applications measuring small sensor signals such as RTDs, thermocouples, thermistors, and resistive bridge sensors.
The ADS112U04 features a 2-wire UART-compatible interface. In applications requiring galvanic isolation, this UART interface minimizes the number of digital isolation channels, reducing cost, board space, and power consumption.
The ADS112U04 is available in a leadless 16-pin WQFN or 16-pin TSSOP package, rated for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
