Introduction
The TC4426/TC4427/TC4428 devices are improved versions of the earlier TC426/TC427/TC428 series MOSFET drivers. The TC4426/TC4427/TC4428 devices feature matched rise and fall times during MOSFET gate charge and discharge. Under any conditions within the rated power and voltage range, the devices exhibit excellent latch-up immunity. The devices will not be damaged even with noise spikes of up to 5V on the ground pin, regardless of polarity. The devices can accept reverse currents of up to 500 mA forced back into the output, regardless of polarity, without causing device damage or logic upset. All pins are fully ESD protected and can withstand electrostatic discharges of up to 4 kV. The TC4426/TC4427/TC4428 MOSFET drivers can easily charge/discharge a 1000 pF gate capacitance within 30 ns. In both on and off states, the devices maintain sufficiently low impedance to ensure the desired MOSFET state is not affected, even in the presence of large transients. Compatible alternative drivers are the TC4426A/TC4427A/TC4428A series devices. In addition to matched rise and fall times similar to those of the TC4426/TC4427/TC4428 devices, the TC4426A/TC4427A/TC4428A devices also feature matched input-to-output rise and fall delay times.
