Introduction
The ADP7118 is a CMOS, low dropout (LDO) linear regulator powered by a 2.7 V to 20 V supply with a maximum output current of 200 mA. This high input voltage LDO is designed for regulating high-performance analog and mixed-signal circuits supplied from 20 V to 1.2 V. The device employs an advanced proprietary architecture to deliver high power supply rejection, low noise, and excellent line and load transient response with only a single 2.2 μF small ceramic output capacitor. The ADP7118 output noise is 11 μV rms, independent of fixed output voltage options at 5 V and below. The ADP7118 offers 16 fixed output voltage options. The following voltage versions are available from stock: 1.2 V (adjustable), 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3.3 V, and 5.0 V. The following voltage versions are available upon special request: 1.5 V, 1.85 V, 2.0 V, 2.2 V, 2.75 V, 2.8 V, 2.85 V, 3.8 V, 4.2 V, and 4.6 V. Each fixed output voltage can be adjusted above the initial setpoint using an external feedback resistor divider. This allows the ADP7118 to provide output voltages from 1.2 V to VN − VDO with high PSRR and low noise. The LFCSP and SOIC packages support user-programmable soft start via an external capacitor. The ADP7118 is available in a compact 6-lead, 2 mm × 2 mm LFCSP package with excellent thermal performance, suitable for thin, small form factor applications requiring up to 200 mA output current. The ADP7118 is also available in a 5-lead TSOT package and an 8-lead SOIC package.
