This series of Zener diodes covers a voltage range of 6.8 to 51 volts at a power rating of 2 watts. Since the actual available voltage of a given Zener diode is temperature-dependent, the junction temperature must be determined under any operating condition in order to calculate its value. Formulas and methods for calculating junction temperature, voltage variation, and related parameters are provided. It is also noted that under high-power pulse operation, the Zener voltage varies with time and is significantly affected by Zener resistance; current fluctuations should be minimized to achieve optimal voltage regulation.
