Introduction
MIC94050 and MIC94051 are four-terminal silicon-gate P-channel MOSFETs offering low on-resistance in an extremely compact package. They are designed for high-performance switching applications where space is critical. At a gate-to-source voltage of 4.5V, the MIC94050/1 features a typical on-resistance of 0.125Ω, and is also operational at gate-to-source voltages as low as 1.8V. The MIC94050 is a basic four-pin P-channel MOSFET, while the MIC94051 integrates a gate pull-up resistor to reduce system component count in many applications. The four-terminal SOT-143 package allows the substrate connection to be separated from the source connection. This four-terminal configuration improves θJA (enhanced thermal dissipation) and enables reverse-blocking switch applications. The combination of small size, low threshold voltage, and low RDS(on) makes the MIC94050/1 ideal for PCMCIA, USB, backup battery power, and distributed power management applications.
Features
- Typical on-resistance of 0.125Ω at 4.5V gate-source voltage
- Operable at 1.8V gate-source voltage
- Separate substrate connection for reverse blocking
Applications
- Distributed power management
- PCMCIA card power management
- USB ports
- Battery-powered computers and peripherals
- Handheld barcode scanners
- Portable communications equipment
- Reverse-blocking battery management
