The S-8215A series is designed for secondary protection of lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, integrating a high-precision voltage detection circuit and delay circuit. Short-circuit protection between battery cells enables three to five cells to be connected in series.

• Overcharge detection voltage n (n = 1 to 5): 3.600 V to 4.700 V (50 mV steps), accuracy ±25 mV (Ta = +25°C), accuracy ±30 mV (Ta = -5°C to +55°C)
• Overcharge hysteresis voltage n (n = 1 to 5): 0.0 mV to -550 mV (50 mV steps), -300 mV to -550 mV, -100 mV to -250 mV, 0.0 mV to -50 mV, accuracy ±20%, accuracy ±50 mV, accuracy ±25 mV
• Overcharge detection delay time set by internal circuit only (no external capacitor required)
• Selectable output type: CMOS output, N-channel open-drain output, P-channel open-drain output
• Selectable output logic: active high, active low
• High withstand voltage: absolute maximum rating 28 V
• Wide operating voltage range: 3.6 V to 26 V
• Wide operating temperature range: Ta = -40°C to +85°C
• Low current consumption: max 3.0 μA at V_CUn - 1.0 V per cell (Ta = +25°C); max 1.7 μA at 2.3 V per cell (Ta = +25°C)
