Introduction
Each OPR5011 device is a hybrid sensor array consisting of a three-channel OPTEK Differential Optical Comparator ("TRI-DOC") IC. The monolithic construction ensures very tight dimensional tolerances between active areas. Designed for high-speed/high-resolution encoder applications, the open-collector outputs switch based on photocurrent level comparison of the input photodiodes. Logarithmic amplification of the input signal facilitates operation over a wide range of light levels. The surface-mount opaque polyimide package protects the photodiodes from stray light and withstands repeated exposure to the most demanding soldering conditions, while gold-plated wrap-around contacts provide excellent shelf life and solderability.
