Introduction
The NTE74LS90 is a single monolithic counter in a 14-pin DIP package containing four master-slave flip-flops and additional gating to provide a divide-by-two counter and a three-stage binary counter with a divide-by-five counting cycle. The counter has gated zero reset inputs and also has gated set-to-nine inputs for use in BCD nine's complement applications. To use the maximum count length (decade or four-bit binary), connect the B input to the QA output. Input count pulses are applied to input A, and the outputs are as described in the applicable function table. By connecting the QD output to the A input and applying the input count to the B input, a symmetrical divide-by-ten count can be obtained from the counter, with a divide-by-ten square wave available at the QA output.
