Introduction
The AD8237 is a micropower, zero-drift, rail-to-rail input and output instrumentation amplifier. It allows any gain from 1 to 1000 to be set with two ratiometrically matched resistors. Outstanding gain accuracy is maintained at any gain using two ratiometrically matched resistors. The AD8237 uses an indirect current feedback architecture to achieve true rail-to-rail capability. Unlike traditional instrumentation amplifiers, the AD8237 can fully amplify signals when the common-mode voltage equals or slightly exceeds its supply voltage. This allows applications with high common-mode voltages to operate from a smaller supply, saving power. The AD8237 is ideal for portable systems, with a minimum supply voltage of 1.8 V, a supply current of 115 μA (typical), and a wide input range; the AD8237 makes full use of limited power while still providing adequate bandwidth and drift performance for benchtop systems.
