Introduction
The InnoSwitch™3-CE series ICs greatly simplify the design and manufacture of flyback power converters, making them especially suitable for applications requiring high efficiency and/or compact form factors. The InnoSwitch3-CE series integrates primary and secondary controllers along with safety-rated feedback into a single IC. InnoSwitch3-CE series devices feature multiple protection functions, including line OVP and UVP, output overvoltage and overcurrent limiting, and over-temperature shutdown. The series is available in configurations supporting common combinations of latching and auto-restart behavior, targeting charger, adapter, consumer electronics, and industrial system applications. Devices are available with and without cable drop compensation.

- Highly integrated, compact form factor: up to 94% efficiency across full load range; integrates multi-mode quasi-resonant (QR)/CCM flyback controller, 650 V switch, secondary-side sensing and synchronous rectification driver; integrates FluxLink™ HIPOT-isolated feedback link; excellent CV/CC accuracy independent of external components; precise output current sensing adjustable via external sense resistor.
- EcoSmart™ energy efficiency: no-load power consumption below 30 mW including line sensing; effortlessly meets all global energy efficiency regulations; low thermal dissipation.
- Advanced protection/safety features: secondary switch or diode short-circuit protection; open-circuit SR FET gate detection; fast input line UV/OV protection.
- Optional features: multi-setting cable drop compensation; variable output voltage and constant-current curve; auto-restart or latching fault response for output OV/UV protection; multiple output UV fault thresholds; latching or hysteretic primary over-temperature protection.
- Fully compliant with safety and regulatory requirements: reinforced isolation; isolation voltage >4000 VAC; 100% production HIPOT testing; UL1577 isolation voltage <4000 VAC (maximum); certified by TUV (EN62368-1), CQC (GB4943.1), and DINVDE V 0884-11; excellent noise immunity enables designs to achieve Class "A" performance per EN61000-4 series, including EN61000-4-2, 4-3 (30 V/m), 4-4, 4-5, 4-6, 4-8 (100 A/m), and 4-9 (1000 A/m).
