Introduction
A series of fixed positive voltage monolithic integrated circuit regulators designed to complement the LM78xx series across a wide range of applications. These applications include on-board regulation to eliminate the noise and distribution problems associated with single-point regulation.
Each regulator can deliver output currents up to 1.5A. Internal current limiting and thermal shutdown features make these regulators essentially immune to overloads. In addition to use as fixed voltage regulators, these devices can be used with external components to obtain adjustable output voltages and currents, or as power pass elements in precision regulators.
