Introduction
PI5USB2546 is a USB charging port controller and power switch with an integrated USB 2.0 high-speed data line (D+/D–) switch. It supports a variety of charging schemes listed in the Features section by providing electrical signatures on the D+/D– lines. The family is compatible with popular BC1.2-compliant and non-BC1.2-compliant devices. PI5USB2546 fully supports system wake-up from S3 state via mouse/keyboard (including low-speed and full-speed). In addition, it supports two independent power management functions via the /STATUS pin: power wake-up for power supply control in S4/S5 charging states, and port power management for managing port power in multi-port applications. Its 73-mΩ power distribution switch is suited for applications that may encounter heavy capacitive loads and short circuits. Two programmable current thresholds provide flexibility for setting current limit and load detection thresholds.
