Introduction
The bq78350-R1 lithium-ion and lithium iron phosphate battery management controller is paired with the bq769x0 series of analog front-end (AFE) protection devices to provide a complete battery management system (BMS) subsystem, which helps to accelerate product development and shorten the time to market. The bq78350-R1 controller and the bq769x0 AFE support 3-cell to 15-cell battery applications. The bq78350-R1 device provides an accurate fuel gauge and state-of-health (SoH) monitor, as well as battery balancing functionality and a full set of voltage, current, and temperature protection features. The bq78350-R1 device offers an optional LED or LCD display configuration for charge reporting. It can also transmit data through the SMBus 1.1 interface. Battery history and diagnostic data are also stored in the device's non-volatile memory and can be accessed through the same interface.
