Introduction
The ADS7046 is a 12-bit 3 MSPS SAR ADC that supports single-ended inputs in the range of 0V to AVDD, with AVDD ranging from 2.35V to 3.6V. The internal offset voltage calibration function maintains excellent offset voltage specifications across the entire AVDD and operating temperature range. The device supports an SPI-compatible serial interface controlled by CS and SCLK signals. The input signal is sampled on the falling edge of CS, while SCLK is used for conversion and serial data output. The device supports a wide digital power supply range (1.65V to 3.6V) and can be directly connected to various host controllers. The nominal DVDD range (1.65V to 1.95V) of the ADS7046 complies with the JESD8-7A standard. The ADS7046 comes in an 8-pin small x2QFN package and can operate normally over a wide industrial temperature range (-40°C to +125°C). With its small size and extremely low power consumption, the device is ideal for space-constrained battery-powered applications that require high-speed and high-resolution data acquisition.
