Introduction
DRV8837 provides an integrated motor driver solution for cameras, consumer products, toys, and other low-voltage or battery-powered motion control applications. The device can drive DC motors, solenoids, and similar loads. The output driver block consists of N-channel power MOSFETs configured as an H-bridge to drive motor windings, with an internally integrated charge pump to generate the required gate drive voltage.
The DRV8837 delivers up to 1.8A output current, with a motor supply voltage input range of 0 to 12V and a logic supply voltage input range of 1.8V to 7.0V. It features a PWM (IN1/IN2) input interface compatible with industry-standard devices, an ultra-low power standby mode with 120nA standby current, and integrated internal shutdown functions including overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, undervoltage lockout, and overtemperature protection. The device comes in a compact DFN2X2-8 package with an exposed thermal pad for effective heat dissipation.
