Introduction
The AiP74HC/HCT164 is an 8-bit serial-in/parallel-out shift register. The device features two serial data inputs (DSA and DSB) and eight parallel data outputs (Q0 to Q7). Data is serially entered through DSA or DSB; either input can be used as an active-HIGH enable to control data entry through the other input. Data is shifted on the rising edge of the clock input (CP). When the reset input (MR) is LOW, the register is cleared and all outputs are forced LOW, regardless of other inputs. Input clamping diodes allow the input interfaces to be connected to voltages exceeding VCC through current-limiting resistors.
