Introduction
The QN4056H series is a linear single-cell lithium-ion battery charger IC featuring a maximum input voltage rating of 33V, input overvoltage protection, and a maximum charge current of 1.2A, employing trickle, constant-current, and constant-voltage charging modes. The charge voltage is set to 4.2V or 4.35V, and the charge current is programmable via an external resistor. When the battery voltage reaches 4.2V or 4.35V, the charge current drops to C/5 or C/10 of the programmed value, at which point the IC terminates charging and enters standby mode. Upon removal of the power supply, the IC automatically enters a low-power standby state. The CE, TS, CHRG, and STDBY pins are also rated for high-voltage operation. This IC is suitable for use with USB power sources and adapter supplies, and employs an internal PMOSFET architecture with reverse-charge protection, eliminating the need for external sense resistors and blocking diodes.
