Introduction
INA128UA/2K5-HX is a low-power, high-precision general-purpose instrumentation amplifier. The device features a functionally rich three-op-amp architecture in a compact footprint. Its current-feedback input circuit delivers wide bandwidth even at frequencies up to 200kHz at a gain of 100. Gain is set via a single external resistor over a range of 1 to 10,000. This amplifier series provides an industry-standard gain formula with an internal 50kΩ resistor. Integrated input protection circuitry and input buffer amplifiers eliminate the need for input impedance matching, making these devices well suited for measurement and test equipment. Additional key features include ultra-low DC offset, minimal drift, low noise, very high open-loop gain, excellent CMRR, and very high input impedance. Laser trimming enables an ultra-low offset voltage (typically 25μV) and outstanding common-mode rejection (93dB at G ≥ 100). The device operates reliably from supply voltages as low as ±2.25V, with a typical quiescent current of 2mA. The internal input protection mechanism withstands voltages up to ±40V without damage. Low-frequency noise is extremely low — approximately 0.2µVPP in the 0.1 to 10Hz band (G ≥ 100) — representing significantly better noise performance than modern chopper-stabilized amplifiers. The device operates with supply voltages greater than 4.5V (±2.25V), with a maximum supply voltage of 36V (±18V). It excels at measuring small differential voltages in the presence of high common-mode voltages; the high input voltage protection and excellent input impedance make it suitable for a wide range of applications. Output signal adjustment via the reference pin adds configuration flexibility.
