The MAX3087E is a high-speed single transceiver for RS-485/RS-422 communications with ±15kV ESD protection. The device ensures that the receiver output is a logic-high when the receiver inputs are open or shorted. This means that if all terminated transceivers on the bus are disabled (high impedance), the receiver output will be logic-high. The MAX3087E driver features an unconstrained slew rate, supporting speeds up to 10Mbps. All driver outputs and receiver inputs are protected to ±15kV using the Human Body Model. These transceivers typically draw low supply current when connected to a terminated bus with no load or with the driver disabled. All devices feature 1/8 unit-load receiver input impedance, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on a single bus. The MAX3087E is designed for full-duplex communication.
