The LTC2852 is a low-power, 15Mbps RS485/RS422 transceiver operating from a 3.3V supply. The receiver features one-eighth unit load, allowing up to 256 nodes per bus, with fail-safe operation that guarantees a logic-high output under open or short-circuit input conditions. When the driver is disabled or powered down, it maintains high output impedance across the entire common-mode range. Current limiting and thermal shutdown on all outputs prevent excessive power dissipation due to bus contention or fault conditions. Enhanced ESD protection enables the device to withstand up to ±1kV (Human Body Model) on the transceiver interface pins without latch-up or damage.
