This device is a high-speed, single transceiver for RS-485/RS-422 communications with ±15kV ESD protection. These devices guarantee a logic-high receiver output when the transmitter inputs are open or shorted. This means that if all transceivers on the terminated bus are disabled (high-impedance), the receiver output will be logic high. The device offers enhanced driver output slew-rate limiting, supporting data rates up to 500kbps. All devices feature ±15kV ESD protection. All driver outputs and receiver inputs are protected to ±15V using the human body model. When the driver is disabled, these transceivers typically draw low quiescent current on the terminated bus. All devices have a receiver input impedance of 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 drivers to be connected on the bus. This device is suitable for full-duplex communication.
