The SNx5176B, designed for RS-485/RS-422 communication, is a 10Mbps high-speed half-duplex transceiver comprising one driver and one receiver. It features ±8 kV HBM ESD protection and a fail-safe circuit that ensures a logic-high output at the receiver when the receiver input is open or short-circuited. If all drivers connected to a terminated bus are disabled (high-impedance), the receiver will output a logic high. The SNx5176B driver imposes no slew rate limitation, guaranteeing data rates up to 10Mbps. The receiver features 1-unit load input impedance, allowing up to 32 transceivers to be connected on the bus. In addition, the SNx5176B incorporates an over-temperature protection circuit to prevent damage under high-temperature conditions.
