The MAX3073E is an RS-485/RS-422 transceiver comprising one driver and one receiver. It features protection circuitry that ensures a logic-high receiver output when the receiver inputs are open or short-circuited. If all drivers on the terminated bus are disabled (high-impedance), the receiver output is also logic-high. These devices offer plug-and-play capability, eliminating spurious transitions on the bus during power-up or hot-plug events. The MAX3073E employs a slew-rate-limited driver, supporting data rates up to 500kbps, making it suitable for full-duplex communication. The MAX3073 receiver input impedance is 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 drivers on the bus.
