Introduction
SP3485E is a high-speed transceiver for RS-485 communications, integrating one driver and one receiver. The device features a failsafe circuit that ensures the receiver output remains logic high when the receiver inputs are open or shorted. This means that if all drivers on the bus are disabled (high-impedance state), the receiver output will be logic high. The SP3485E driver slew rate is not limited, enabling data rates up to 10Mbps. In addition, the receiver features 1/8 unit load input impedance, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on the bus.
