Introduction
This device is a high-speed transceiver for RS-485 communications, incorporating one driver and one receiver. It features a fail-safe circuit that guarantees a logic-high output at the receiver when the receiver inputs are open or shorted. This means that if all transmitters on the bus are disabled (high-impedance), the receiver output will be logic high. The driver slew rate is unconstrained, enabling data rates up to 10Mbps. In addition, the device features a receiver input impedance of 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on the bus.
