HGSEMI MAX485ESA/HG

MAX485E is a +5.0V single-supply RS-485/RS-422 transceiver with ±16kV ESD protection. The device integrates a failsafe circuit that ensures a logic-high output at the receiver when the receiver inputs are open-circuited, short-circuited, or all transmitters on the bus are disabled. The full product family supports hot-swap capability, suppressing fault transients on the bus during power-up or hot-insertion events. The driver delivers a large output voltage swing (greater than 2.1V into a 54Ω load), ensuring enhanced noise margin, with an unslew-rate-limited driver supporting data rates up to 10Mbps. The device is designed for half-duplex communication, with a receiver input impedance of 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 transceivers on the bus. MAX485E is available in 8-pin DIP and SOP packages, with commercial and industrial temperature range options.
