Introduction
LM2663M is a 40V industrial-grade electronic fuse solution. The device provides robust protection for all systems and applications operating at voltages from 4.5V to 40V. For hot-plug capable boards, the device offers hot-plug power management with inrush current control. It protects the load, power supply, and the device itself through numerous programmable features including overcurrent and undervoltage protection. Precision overcurrent limiting (±10% at 3A) helps minimize over-design of the input power supply, while fast-response short-circuit protection immediately isolates a faulted load from the input power supply upon short-circuit detection. The robust internal protection control block of the LM2663M, combined with its 40V rating, helps simplify system design to meet industrial surge requirements and ensures complete protection for both the load and the device. A maximum DC operating voltage of 40V and a maximum voltage rating of 60V enable it to protect systems against 40V DC input power supply faults and industrial SELV power supplies. The device accurately monitors the voltage bus for brownout conditions and signals faults to downstream systems. Its 2% overall threshold accuracy ensures tight bus monitoring without the need for a separate supply voltage supervisor IC.
