Introduction
MAX481CSA-TD is a 3.3V, half-duplex, low-power RS-485 transceiver fully compliant with TIA/EIA-485 standard requirements. The device contains one driver and one receiver, both of which can be independently enabled and disabled. When both are disabled, the driver and receiver outputs enter a high-impedance state. The MAX481CSA-TD features a 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 32 transceivers to be connected on the same communication bus. Error-free data transmission at up to 10Mbps is achievable. The MAX481CSA-TD operates over a supply voltage range of 3.0V to 3.6V and provides failsafe protection, over-temperature protection, current-limiting protection, and overvoltage protection. It is a half-duplex, high-speed transceiver for RS-485/RS-422 communications, incorporating one driver and one receiver. The receiver input impedance is 96kΩ (1/8 unit load), allowing up to 32 transceivers to be connected in parallel on a single bus, provided the total load does not exceed 32 unit loads. Driver output protection employs two mechanisms: first, fast short-circuit protection (overcurrent protection) across the full common-mode voltage range; second, when the die junction temperature exceeds 140°C, the thermal shutdown circuit forces the driver outputs into a high-impedance state.
