The TPS8267x device is a complete 600mA DC/DC step-down power supply specifically designed for low-power applications. The package includes a switching regulator, an inductor, and input/output capacitors. No additional components are required in the design. The TPS8267x is based on a high-frequency synchronous step-down DC/DC converter optimized for battery-powered portable applications. The MicroSiP DC/DC converter can operate at a stable switching frequency of 5.5MHz and enter the power-saving mode at light load currents to maintain high efficiency across the entire load current range. The PFM mode can reduce the quiescent current to 17μA (typical) during light-load operation, thereby extending the battery life. For noise-sensitive applications, the device features a PWM spread-spectrum function, which provides a stable output with low noise and reduces the impact of noise on the input. Combining high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) and AC load modulation performance, the device is suitable for replacing linear regulators to achieve higher power conversion efficiency. The TPS8267x comes in a compact 2.3mm×2.9mm ball grid array (BGA) package with a small form factor (thickness less than 1.0mm), making it suitable for automatic assembly using standard surface-mount equipment.
