Introduction
The MC33151PG-HX/MC34151PG-HX series low-side MOSFET drivers are manufactured using BiCMOS/DMOS process technology, offering high power efficiency and reliability. These drivers translate input logic levels from TTL or CMOS to output levels that swing to within 25 mV of the positive supply or ground. This contrasts with bipolar devices, which can only swing to within 1V of the supply voltage. The series is available in three configurations: dual inverting, dual non-inverting, and one inverting plus one non-inverting output. They are designed as replacements for the MC34151PG-HX, offering improved electrical performance and robustness. These drivers feature high durability, capable of withstanding reverse currents up to 500 mA (either polarity) without latch-up, and tolerating noise spikes up to 5V on the ground pin (either polarity). Primarily intended for driving power MOSFETs, they are also suitable for driving other loads requiring low impedance, high peak current, and fast switching times. Additional potential applications include driving heavy-load clock lines, coaxial cables, or piezoelectric transducers. Note that the total power dissipation of the driver must not exceed the package limits.
