Introduction
The ISO7842x device is a high-performance four-channel digital isolator with an isolation voltage of 8000V_PK. This device has passed the enhanced isolation certification compliant with VDE, CSA, CQC, and TUV standards. When isolating complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) or low-voltage complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (LVCMOS) digital I/Os, this isolator offers high electromagnetic immunity and low radiation, along with low power consumption characteristics. Each isolation channel has a logic input and output buffer separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barrier. This device is equipped with an enable pin, which can be used to place the corresponding outputs in multiple master-drive applications in a high-impedance state and can also be used to reduce power consumption. The ISO7842 device has 2 forward channels and 2 reverse channels. In case of input power or signal loss, the ISO7842 device outputs a high level by default, while the ISO7842F device outputs a low level by default. When used in combination with an isolated power supply, this device helps prevent noise currents in the data bus or other circuits from entering the local ground, thereby interfering with or damaging sensitive circuits. Thanks to the innovative chip design and wiring technology, the electromagnetic compatibility of the ISO7842 device has been significantly enhanced, ensuring system-level ESD, EFT, and surge protection and compliance with radiation standards. The ISO7842 device is available in 16-pin SOIC wide-body (DW) and ultra-wide-body (DWW) packages.
