Introduction
The ISO7830 is a high-performance, three-channel digital isolator with an isolation voltage of up to 8000 VPK. The device has received enhanced isolation certification complying with VDE, CSA, and CQC standards. When isolating CMOS or LVCMOS digital I/O, this isolator provides high electromagnetic immunity and low emissions with low power consumption. The logic input and output buffers of each isolation channel are separated by a silicon dioxide (SiO₂) insulation barrier. The device features an enable pin that can be used to place the corresponding outputs in a high-impedance state in multi-master driver applications, or to reduce power consumption. The ISO7830 has three forward channels and no reverse channels. In the event of input power or signal loss, the ISO7830 device defaults to a logic "high" output, while the ISO7830F device defaults to a logic "low" output. When used with an isolated power supply, this device prevents noise currents on data buses or other circuits from entering the local ground and interfering with or damaging sensitive circuits. Through innovative chip design and routing techniques, the EMC performance of the ISO7830 is significantly enhanced, ensuring system-level ESD, EFT, and surge protection while meeting radiated emissions standards. The ISO7830 is available in a 16-pin small-outline integrated circuit (SOIC) wide-body (DW) package.
