Introduction
The TCAN1043A-Q1 is a high-speed Controller Area Network (CAN) transceiver that meets the physical layer requirements of the ISO 11898-2:2016 high-speed CAN specification. This device supports both traditional CAN and CAN FD, with data rates up to 8 megabits per second (Mbps) (TCAN1043A-Q1) or 5 Mbps (TCAN1043AT-Q1). The TCAN1043A-Q1 can selectively enable various power supplies that may be present on the system through the INH output pin, thereby reducing the battery current consumption at the entire system level. This allows power to be delivered to all system components except the TCAN1043A-Q1 in the low-current sleep mode while monitoring the CAN bus. When a wake-up event is detected, the TCAN1043A-Q1 initiates the system by driving the INH pin high. The TCAN1043A-Q1 features an SWE timer that enables a safe transition from standby mode to sleep mode after 4 minutes (tINACTIVE) of inactivity. This feature also ensures that the device transitions to the low-power sleep mode if the MCU fails and is unable to switch the device to the normal mode.
