Introduction
The MAX803/809/810 series are microprocessor reset circuits designed for monitoring power supply or battery voltages. No external components are required, improving system reliability and reducing cost. When the monitored supply voltage drops below the preset reset threshold, the circuit asserts a reset signal; once the supply voltage rises back above the threshold, the reset signal remains asserted for a minimum of 140ms. The MAX809/MAX810 provide CMOS outputs, while the MAX803 provides an open-drain output. The MAX803 and MAX809 feature active-low reset outputs, while the MAX810 features an active-high reset output. The design ensures that brief supply voltage glitches do not trigger a reset. Guaranteed valid reset output is maintained over the full operating temperature range, even with supply voltages as low as 1.15V. These devices are available in a 3-pin SOT23 package.
Features
- Precise reset threshold: ±2.5%
- Two reset output options: CMOS output (MAX809/MAX810) and open-drain output (MAX803)
- Minimum 140ms reset pulse width
- Low operating current: 3.2µA typical at 3V supply
- Reset signal remains valid down to 1.15V supply voltage
- Filters short-duration supply voltage glitches
- Operating temperature range: -40°C to +85°C
- SOT23-3 package
Applications
- Computers
- Microcontrollers
- Smart meters
- Portable or battery-powered devices
