Introduction
TAJ1044 is a member of the high-speed CAN transceiver family, providing an interface between the CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. This transceiver is designed for high-speed CAN applications in the automotive industry, offering differential transmit and receive capabilities for microcontrollers with CAN protocol controllers. The TAJ1044 provides a feature set optimized for 12V automotive applications, with significant improvements and excellent EMC performance. In addition, the TAJ1044 features: ideal passive behavior on the CAN bus when the supply voltage is off; an ultra-low current standby mode with bus wake-up capability; outstanding EMC performance even without a common-mode choke; and variants with a VIO pin for direct interfacing with microcontrollers operating at supply voltages from 3.3V to 5V. These characteristics make the TAJ1044 an excellent choice for all types of high-speed CAN nodes, especially those requiring wake-up via the CAN bus and low-power modes. The TAJ1044 implements the CAN physical layer as defined in ISO 11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284-1 through SAE J2284-5. The TAJ1044T supports data rates up to 1 Mbit/s. Other variants specify additional timing parameters defining loop delay symmetry. This implementation supports reliable communication at data rates up to 5 Mbit/s during the CAN FD fast phase.
