Introduction
2842, 2843, 2844, and 2845 are fixed-frequency current-mode PWM controllers designed for off-line and DC-DC converter applications with minimal external components. Internally implemented circuitry includes a trimmed oscillator for precise duty cycle control, a temperature-compensated reference, a high-gain error amplifier, a current-sensing comparator, and a high-current totem-pole output ideally suited for driving power MOSFETs. Protection features include built-in undervoltage lockout and current limiting. The 2842 and 2844 have UVLO thresholds of 16V (on) and 10V (off). The 2843 and 2845 have corresponding thresholds of 8.4V (on) and 7.6V (off). The 2842 and 2843 operate at up to 100% duty cycle. The 2844 and 2845 operate at up to 50% duty cycle. Startup current for this device family is typically 0.5mA.
