Introduction
The LM13700 series contains two transconductance amplifiers, each with differential inputs and a push-pull output. The two amplifiers share a single power supply but can operate independently. Linearizing diodes at the inputs reduce distortion and allow higher input voltages, resulting in a 10dB improvement in SNR at 0.5% THD. High-impedance buffers are specifically designed to complement the dynamic range of the amplifiers. Unlike the LM13600, whose output buffers are controlled by the input bias current Iabc, the LM13700's output buffers operate independently of Iabc (as does the output DC level), making it superior to the LM13600 in audio applications.
Features
- Transconductance gm adjustability over 10 decades
- Internal linearizing diodes reduce output distortion
- Excellent transconductance gm linearity
- High-impedance buffer
- Excellent amplifier-to-amplifier matching
- High output SNR
Applications
- Current-controlled amplifier
- Stereo audio amplifier
- Current-controlled impedance circuit
- Current-controlled filter
- Current-controlled oscillator
- Multiplexer
- Timer
- Sample-and-hold circuit
