Introduction
The AD5761R/AD5721R are single-channel, 16-/12-bit serial-input, voltage-output DACs that operate from a single supply (4.75 V to 30 V) or dual supplies (−16.5 V to 0 V VSS and 4.75 V to 16.5 V VDD). Integrating an output amplifier, reference buffer, and voltage reference, these devices provide a highly versatile, easy-to-use general-purpose solution. These devices guarantee monotonicity, ±2 LSB (maximum) INL over the selected range, 35 nV/√Hz noise, and a 7.5 μs settling time. The AD5761R/AD5721R feature a serial interface capable of operating at clock rates up to 50 MHz, compatible with DSP and microcontroller interface standards. Double-buffering enables asynchronous updates of the DAC output. Input coding is user-selectable as two's complement or offset binary. An asynchronous reset function resets all registers to their default states. The output range is user-selectable via the RA[2:0] bits in the control register. These devices are available in 3 mm × 3 mm LFCSP and 16-lead TSSOP packages, guaranteed over the industrial temperature range of −40°C to +125°C.
