Introduction
The TJA1051 high-speed CAN transceiver provides an interface between a CAN protocol controller and the physical two-wire CAN bus. Designed for high-speed CAN applications in the automotive industry, it offers differential transmit and receive capabilities for CAN protocol controllers. The TJA1051 features improved EMC and ESD performance, along with the following characteristics: ideal passive behavior on the CAN bus when the supply voltage is switched off; devices with a V10 pin variant can directly interface with microcontrollers operating at supply voltages from 3.3V to 5V. The TJA1051 implements the CAN physical layer as defined in ISO 11898-2:2016 and SAE J2284-1 through SAE J2284-5. This implementation supports reliable communication at data rates of up to 5Mbps during the CAN FD fast phase.
