Introduction
The LM4861 is a bridge audio power amplifier capable of delivering 1.1W of continuous average power into an 8Ω load at 5V supply, with 1% THD+N. Boomer audio power amplifiers are designed for use in surface-mount packages, delivering high-quality output power with minimal external components. Since the LM4861 requires no output coupling capacitors, bootstrap capacitors, or snubber networks, it is well suited for low-power portable systems. The device features an externally controllable low-power shutdown mode and an internal thermal shutdown protection mechanism. This unity-gain stable amplifier can be configured for differential gains up to 10 via external gain-setting resistors, without requiring external compensation components. Higher gains are achievable with appropriate compensation.
