Introduction
Multilayer Varistors (MLV) are surge voltage suppressors. Manufactured using advanced multilayer chip technology, these semiconductor ceramic components provide robust protection for protected devices (circuits) while offering excellent surge energy absorption and internal heat dissipation capabilities. The leadless chip structure features extremely low parasitic inductance and very fast response speed (response time <0.5 ns), resulting in superior suppression of ESD and various surge noise. Similar to conventional Zener diodes and disc varistors, MLVs are compact, lightweight, and fast-responding.
