Introduction
The 1307 serial real-time clock is a low-power, BCD-coded clock/calendar IC with 56 bytes of non-volatile SRAM. Address and data are transferred serially via I²C. The clock/calendar provides seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year information, with automatic end-of-month date adjustment for months fewer than 31 days and leap year correction. The clock supports 24-hour or 12-hour format with AM/PM indication. An onboard power-sense circuit automatically switches to a backup supply when the primary power fails, maintaining timekeeping data and operation. Available in SOP8 and DIP8 packages.
