Introduction
MS2878 is a full-bridge DMOS brushed motor driver IC with a maximum operating range of ±3.5A and 40V input voltage, using PWM control for motor drive speed and direction. When both inputs are set to logic low, the motor driver enters a low-power sleep mode. The IC integrates a current limiting function that, based on the analog input VREF and ISEN pin voltages, limits current to a known level — significantly reducing system power requirements without the need for large bulk capacitors to maintain stable voltage, especially during motor startup and stop. Internal shutdown functions include overcurrent protection, short-circuit protection, UVLO, and over-temperature protection. MS2878 adopts an SOP-8 package with an exposed pad for improved thermal dissipation, is a lead-free product, and features a leadframe with 100% matte tin plating.
