Introduction
MAX485CUA+THX is a high-speed RS-485/RS-422 transceiver IC supporting +5V supply with half-duplex operation. It integrates one driver and one receiver, capable of achieving data rates up to 10Mbps. The device features ±15kV ESD protection, effectively preventing electrostatic discharge damage to the chip. Both the driver and receiver have enable pins (DE and RE); when the enable pins are deasserted, the driver and receiver outputs enter a high-impedance state. In addition, the MAX485CUA+THX incorporates a fail-safe circuit that ensures correct output even when the receiver input is open or short-circuited. The receiver input impedance is 1/8 unit load, allowing up to 256 transceivers to be connected on the same bus.
