Introduction
The LM385 is a micropower bandgap voltage reference fabricated using bipolar process technology. The device delivers a stable voltage reference over an operating current range of 10μA to 20mA, featuring very low dynamic resistance and excellent temperature stability. Its built-in reference adjustment mechanism ensures minimal output voltage tolerance. Since the LM385's bandgap reference is constructed solely from transistors and resistors, the circuit exhibits low noise and superior long-term stability. The design fully accounts for various load conditions, making it highly adaptable to external loads and suitable for the vast majority of voltage reference applications. Its wide dynamic operating range allows the device to maintain excellent regulation performance even under significant supply voltage variations. The LM385 requires only minimal quiescent current while providing a precision reference, making it particularly well-suited for micropower applications.
Features
- ±4mV (±0.3%) maximum initial tolerance (Grade A)
- Operating current: 10μA ~ 20mA
- 0.6Ω maximum dynamic impedance (Grade A)
- Low temperature coefficient
Applications
- Battery-powered portable instruments
- Regulated power supplies
- General-purpose analog circuits
