Introduction
SP4523 is a single-chip solution integrating synchronous switch charging and synchronous boost functions. It incorporates a synchronous switch charging module, a synchronous boost discharge management module, a battery gauge and LED indicator module, and a protection module. The chip integrates built-in charging and discharging power MOSFETs, with a charging current of 1A and a synchronous boost output current of 1A. It employs a patented adaptive charging current technology and a patented control scheme that eliminates the need for external power-setting resistors, reducing both power consumption and system cost. The chip integrates multiple safety protection features, including temperature compensation, over-temperature protection, overcharge and over-discharge protection, output overvoltage protection, and output overload protection, ensuring the safety of both the chip and the lithium-ion battery. The application circuit is simple, requiring only a minimal number of external components to implement both charging and discharging management.
